I've had Hair Extensions for 4 years. Here's why I'm taking them out.
I know it's only hair, but I'm scared.
I’ve always had fine, limp hair. It’s one of the great genetic lotteries I won.
My pony tail had the same girth as my pinky finger and my hairline rivalled My Burns.
For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of having long luscious locks, and when I realised that I could pay for that pleasure…I did.
For the past 4 years I’ve been the owner of long, thick hair. Not my own, mind you - it’s been sewn into my head.
And I’ve loved it.
The maintenance has felt low - the extensions hold their style, the thickness means I haven’t had to create body out of thin air, and I could get away with only washing my hair once a week. For someone who exercises and sweats that fact is gross, but true.
