Issue #71 | Chilli, Honey & Tamari Barramundi Bags with Asian Greens, A classic black coat under $300, A life-changing money book and a quote about criticism.
Plus, it's Mother's Day this weekend and we left it too late to book a restaurant!
I woke up flat on Tuesday.
Nothing had caused it. It was just one of those days when things felt…hard.
I didn’t want to get out of bed (but I did)
I didn’t want to walk Barry (but I did)
I reallllly didn’t want to exercise (but I did)
It was finally after that last ‘I don’t want to’ that I turned my morning around.
There’s a great misconception that some people are born magically motivated. For years I believed it too.
As I’ve grown and pursued a life that makes me pretty content, I’ve realised the people who are happy and confident, just…in the words of Nike - do it.
They look for opportunities instead of problems. They take action when they’re scared. They go for a run when they’d rather stick pins in their eyes (allegedly). They don’t rely on motivation at all.
I finished my run on Tuesday feeling like I could accomplish anything. Sure, endorphins help, but by overcoming that one challenge (that felt HUGE in my mind) I proved to myself that I could overcome other challenges that day too.
And it’s a feeling that’s kept going all week :)
Thank you to the new subscribers that are here! Poor Josh has had to listen to me get excited every time I get a notification that you’ve joined. It means a lot and I’m very grateful for your support.
Let’s get into issue #71! Today I'm sharing:
A print about being criticised that I return to every time I’m fearful of putting myself ‘out there’ inspired by a reader comment (shoutout to Laura!)
A life-changing book about money that’s a classic example of ‘the teacher arrives when the student is ready’
A classic black coat under $300 (which is great for a big coat)
And Chilli, Honey & Tamari Barramundi Bags that look fancy but are SO easy!
Have the happiest Friday!
