Issue #65 | Joey's life-changing Hot Cross Buns (unbelievable!!!), A silly quote, The watch band everyone asks about, and an inspiring & relatable business book.
Plus I'm presenting the Weekend Weather for the first time since Summer!
Happy Easter!
I'm trying to imagine you reading The List this Good Friday morning, here's my vision…
You're sitting in a quiet space with a coffee, hot cross bun and/or chocolate close by. You've got a moment to yourself, and it's the perfect slow pause in your morning before the Easter festivities ramp up. How did I do?
If you're more in the “stealing glances while I wrangle the kids/dog/husband and sip a rapidly cooling coffee” season of life - I see you too.
Whichever way you consume The List, I love hearing your reading rituals. For most people, it's the first thing they do with a cuppa on a Friday morning. And I really love that I get to be a part of your week :)
There's a lot of new people here, so a very warm hey/hi/hello to you if it's your first issue (or your 65th!)
Get ready for fashion, beauty, book and podcast recommendations alongside some depth, positivity and hopefully a little inspiration too.
So let's get into issue #65! Today I'm sharing:
A quote with 3 of my favourite qualities
A business book that is actionable and relatable (loving it!)
One of my most worn items that I've never shared!
and of course…Joey's Hot Cross Buns!!!!
Have the happiest Easter!
“Be Silly. Be Honest. Be Kind."
I started working on this print last week and had the original version sitting on my desk, when Harper came over to look at it. She read it and then asked why I'd written those words. I told her, to me, it's important to be all three things.
Being honest and kind goes without saying…
But being silly - that's a personal favourite.
You may have noticed that I like to balance depth with a lot of silliness. I like to work hard, but not take myself too seriously.
My favourite quality in others is their ability to laugh at themselves. It's endearing and instantly puts people at ease. For me, a good sense of humour is essential in life.
I love achievement and success, but I don't see the point in reaching my goals if I can't enjoy myself along the way. While I pursue everything I want in this life, I try to balance it with non-attachment to the outcome and whole lot of fun and silliness too.
I only realised the impact of this short convo with Harper a week later, when I came across 3 homemade ‘bookmarks’. One had a picture of balloons, another had a rainbow, and the third had just one word and a smiley face.
That word? Silly.
