“Work hard and be nice to people"
Ahhh it's as simple as that, isn't it?
When I think of working hard, I think of showing up as the person you want to be and doing your best.
I thought about changing this quote to “Do your best and be nice to people (including yourself)”
For many of us, it's much easier to be nice to other people. When it comes to our own self talk, we can be quite nasty. We often berate ourselves for every little imperfection.
I hope when you read this quote you see yourself as a person worthy of being nice to. That goes for any iteration of yourself.
Whether you were productive, or a little slow today.
Whether you were calm or impatient.
Whether you fit into your jeans or not.
Whether your house is clean or you've got last nights dishes still in the sink.
Be nice to yourself.
Work hard at self-compassion and your life will be much happier. Trust me.
