You’re about to learn how I manifested a trip to my favourite city in the world

I’ve been to London 4 times. Twice off the back of a netball tour, and two more times for a holiday. Every visit makes me fall deeper in love with the City.

From the history and architecture, to the food, shopping and culture. For me it’s the epitome of cool. I love it more than New York (and I love New York) and what they lack in sun they make up for in style.

And I’m beyond excited to visiting in November…as in 6 weeks time.

How did I get here?

I had no plans to visit London this year. I was already pinching myself that I’ve had 2 holidays and was happily content to kick back and work hard for the rest of the year.

But life had other plans.

Josh got an epic work opportunity that is sending him to London for a week. It seemed rude to go all that way and not turn it into a holiday, so I’m meeting him over there!

We’re spending 8 nights in central London, just the two of us. I can’t wait to create new memories in the city I love most, with the person I love most. (Sorry, I’m even grossing myself out with the cheesiness)

So, where’s the manifestation?

My motivation for The Manifesting Diaries was to cut through what is real and what is, for lack of a better word, bullshit when it comes to manifestation.

How much is “law of attraction” and how much is just old fashioned hard work?

A holiday is a case in point. Surely anyone can book a holiday and call it a manifestation, right?

Here’s how I see it. This holiday seems like a manifestation for 4 reasons…

REASON 1: It was unexpected

This trip was not on my radar. One of my goals for this year was to travel more with Josh, the girls and my family which I’d already done.

Similarly, travel has never been a goal of mine until this year. And I’ve never travelled more than I have this year. It felt serendipitous.

REASON 2: The Timing

At no other time this year have I had space in my schedule to ‘pop over to London’. But at this time, when Josh was being sent over completely outside of my control, I did.

REASON 3: Financially

Financially I’m in a position to do this. I’ve been working, saving and being smart with my dollars to allow myself to make the most of random opportunities like this. At no other time of this year could I have pulled the trigger financially. But right now, I can.

But wait there’s more…

REASON 4: Joey’s 40th

And just when things couldn’t get anymore aligned, my trip gets better.

Joey turns 40 this year and she’s booked a trip to Hong Kong to celebrate. The timing of that trip? November.

One guess who’s flying home from London via Hong Kong to celebrate her big sisters 40th? Your pal Em.

The stars aligned. Manifestation works. I can’t believe this is all happening.

A NOTE

It’s really interesting to observe the feelings that are coming up as I’m sharing this all with you. I feel really uncomfortable.

It feels like I’m bragging and I immediately want to diminish this trip and not share it at all. I don’t want to make anyone feel bad from me sharing the good in my life.

I’ve spoken previously about feeling guilty for good things happening to me - and honestly thought I was over it! But it’s really interesting that I immediately want to delete what I’ve written above!

I also have a fear that now that I’ve shared it…it won’t happen! How weird are our minds? I’m grateful to recognise the work I still need to do on my mindset, especially around abundance. I’ve come to realise I’ve felt much more comfortable having less. It makes me feel less of a threat, or target for negativity. I don’t want that to be true anymore.

In addition to cutting through the crap around Manifestation, I also wanted these Diaries to show what’s possible for YOU.

So, I hope this doesn’t feel like I’m simply telling you how great my life is. I hope it’s an example of the good that can happen to you too.

Now, let’s check in with the rest of my goals…

THE MANIFESTATIONS

An update on where I’m at with every one of my dreams.

DREAM: I have a positive impact on people through the work that I do (spread joy!)

THIS MONTH: I’m going to break this down into the work I do currently:

  1. THE LIST

    1. My goal for THE LIST is simple: to offer escapism and entertainment through sharing my life and what I love. I want you to finish each issue feeling better than you did before. I’m always looking at ways to add more good into your life - whether it’s through health, mindset, or fashion & beauty! (stay tuned for the new series coming next week)

  2. CHANNEL 7

    1. Where I can, I aim to add a positive and pro-active lens to what I’m covering. I love that I get to report on women’s sport and highlight the stories of women who are killing it.

  3. GUEST SPEAKER, HOST & MC

    1. I always bring energy, positivity and authenticity to my work. That goes for the audience as much as it is the clients I work with. I want to be a friendly, professional and engaging person to work with!

  4. CLEVERHAND

    1. I love offering art that allows you to connect further to the people you love! From the baby pieces to wedding gifts. It feels so special to be a conduit to your closest connections.

ON TRACK: YES! Having a positive impact is always at the top of my mind in my interactions with others - whether it’s clients, customers or workmates :)
