Hey, June!
Fun recs, fave memes, our most read, clicked and commented plus other tidbits I think you'll love.
And just like that, it’s the first of June. WTF.
If you’re anything like me and silently rocking back and forth in the corner wondering how on earth we’re closing in on the first half of the year and is it too early to start thinking about Christmas…you’re not alone.
Let me ease your anxiety with a little distraction for this fabulous first day of June!
It’s been an AMAZING first month here on Substack. I love love loooove the ability to read your comments, share multiple links, and generally offer MORE and BETTER content for ya. Thanks so much for being here!!
I now write on Tuesdays as well as Fridays. In May, Tuesday topics included:
I Went Viral? - A deep dive into women supporting women, and how it’s the norm in Netball (and I dare say a lot more common than the media would have us think)
The Manifesting Diaries - the secret Mum told me when I was 12 and how it changed my life
The Manifesting Diaries #1: The Process - including my personal goals, the exact process I use, plus a handy workbook for you - if you’d like to follow along and have some fun manifesting some cool stuff too!
Everything I Wear On My Face - literally what it says. Plus a chaotic video showing exactly how and where to put on your makeup, hastily filmed before I had to pick the girls up from school (she’s in her ‘stepmum’ era, lollll). I also share if I’ve had botox or not…
And today is my first FREE monthly issue. They are free range baby - I’m going rogue sharing everything I’m loving. It’s random, like me. I hope you love it!
Issue #70 was the most read email in May - it was the first issue sent on Substack! The 10-minute San Choy Bow is damn delicious and so healthy too.
Followed closely by Issue #72 - the Raspberry Yoghurt Scrolls I shared in this email are to DIE for. If you haven’t made them - you need to. You can’t stuff them up, trust me I’ve tried: my oven has turned off halfway through one batch, I ran out of yoghurt so subbed in half milk/half yoghurt in another, and swapped raspberries for blueberries too. They all worked out. Make them, ok?
Fashion has been having a moment in The List this month. These jackets were the most clicked items. Coincidentally they’re both from Kmart! We love a bargain, don’t we?
The red one is only $25, while the brown puffer is just $39. I’ve been living in both of them.
Affordable Art.
My sister Joey is the most stylish person I know. From clothing to homewares, she has an eye for beauty. She’s settling into her new home and has been decorating it in her stunning signature cosy style.
One way she’s created such a warm homey vibe is through artwork. She’s been really smart about it too, working on a small budget for big rewards.
As you’ll know from the prints I share each week, I love getting downloadable art printed. And that’s exactly what Joey has done here. The framed artworks 2, 3 and 4 are all pdf’s she bought online and had printed at a local printer. The frames are cheapies too.
Number 1 was affordable too, but was already printed. Isn’t she clever?
I’ve linked them all below for you:
Here’s some extra notes from Joey:
“The digital prints I bought were from HERE (about $8.70 each)
Cost wise I had 7 prints printed by Snap at Kent Town, in various sizes which came to a total of $70.40 (so about $10 each)
The frames I bought were from Temple and Webster and Design Stuff (because they had fine rimmed frames that were on sale at the time). For example THIS and THIS. Then all stuck on the wall with command strips!”
COOKBOOK - I’ve been absolutely LOVING the new cookbook Wholesome by Sarah I’ve made about 4 meals now and they’ve all been easy, healthy-ish and delicious. Highly recommend.
PLANNING - I’ll be sharing more during more in my next Manifesting Diaries Entry, but just a quick note to say you never lose out on focusing on what you want instead of what you don’t want and creating positive change in your life. I highly recommend printing out this workbook and giving yourself 15mins to yourself to get clarity on what you want in your life.
FAKE TAN - I dashed to Coles last week in a frantic search for tan. I was all out of my usual, and the options were limited. I saw that this one was on sale for $11 ($17 full price) and I didn’t have high hopes. In happy news it exceeded all expectation!! Love it. Will buy again.
It’s me. I’m toad.
I’m pretty pumped for what June’s got to offer.
Personally, I’ve got some epic netty games to cover. It’s the second half of the Super Netball Season and things are starting to get verrrry interesting.
There’s a long weekend coming up and hopefully time to catch up with friends and family more regularly.
In The List, things are heating up too 🔥 —
We’ve got a new series dropping Tuesday with an EPIC guest!! (so excited to share this series)
Entry 2 of the Manifesting Diaries - has anything…actually…happened?
A post about exercise and the surprising lessons I’ve only just learnt (that I know will help you too)
Plus, weekly issues of the most-popular Friday email!
If you want access to all of the goodness, you can upgrade to paid. It’s $7/month and you get access to everything I’ve ever shared, not to mentioned you’ll finally be able to let go of FOMO.
Thank you SO much for reading The List!
I’d really love to hear from you, too! If you’re comfortable, please share:
